SAFETY PRECAUTIONS AND PROPER HANDLING OF FIREARMS

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS AND PROPER HANDLING OF FIREARMS

SAFETY must be the first and constant consideration of every person who handles firearms and ammunitions. A person with a gun in his possession has important responsibility. He must know how to use his firearm safely. Do not attempt to use any firearm without having complete understanding of its particular characteristics and safe use.
1.       They should holstered except when drawn for a definite purpose.
2.       The gun must always be checked for live ammunitions.
3.       Never point the firearm at anything you do not intend to shoot.
4.       Never cock the firearm unless you are ready to shoot. Do not even insert your finger in the trigger guard until you are ready to shoot.
5.       When holding a firearm that is ready to fire, be absolutely certain that it is not pointed at any part of your body or at any other person.
6.       Always swing out the cylinder from the frame every time an inspection is made.
7.       Use only the firearm to protect your life or the life of someone you have responsibility to protect from a deadly attack.
8.       Always inspect your gun and check it regularly.
9.       You are not authorized to use the firearm for anything other than your security work. Always keep in your possession the duty detail order (DDO) as your authority to carry the firearm in your place of work.
10.   Do not forget to check the license of your service firearm before you assume your duties and responsibilities.
11.   Do not leave your firearm unattended for any person to pick up.
12.   Use the proper ammunition, which is intended only for your firearm.
13.   Don’t tinker with your firearm. Always report to your detachment commander, OIC, Team Leader/your supervisor any defect in the gun/ammunition you are using.
14.   Never play with your firearm, as this will only render the gun defective.

  1. I liked the way you put together everything, there is certainly no need to go any further to look for any additional information. You mentioned each and everything that too with much of ease about Active Threat Response Training.
