2.2.1.    Bomb Identification




a)    for use.
b)    The guard and all employees shall familiarize themselves with the building fire defense plan and evacuation procedure.

2.2.1.    Emergency Action in Case of fire

a)    Anyone who discovers a fire shall sound the alarm or send someone to sound the alarm.
b)    If the fire is about to start or just starting, fight the fire with the sure of the nearest portable fire extinguishers.
c)    If the fire alarm is set off, call up the fire department.
d)    If there is a need to evacuate, follow the prescribed evacuation of the building.

2.3.        SICKNESS OR INJURY

In case any employee, visitor, or other individuals incur an injury, follow the following procedure.

                                                2.5.1    Procedure for Emergency Action

a)    Assess the situation if it is safe for you to touch or attend to the victim.
b)    Make a primary survey of the victim’s condition.
c)    Check for responsiveness, if conscious or not.
d)    If the victim does not respond, check for blacked airway, breathing, and circulation (ABC)
e)    If any of the ABC is absent, apply cardio-pulmonary resuscitation(CPR)
f)     If and when the victim responds, call for emergency help.
Ø  Call hospital, doctor and ambulance.
Ø  Give your name location and telephone number.
Ø  State the condition of patient and the possible cause of the illness
Ø  Describe what is being done.
g)    Make a secondary survey of the victim.
h)    Check and monitor the vital signs:
Ø  Rate of Breathing if normal (15 to 20 per min. for adult*)
Ø  Rate of pulse if normal (60 to 80 per min. for adult*)
Ø  Skin- if hot or cold
Ø  Skin- if moist (clammy) or dry (parched)
Ø  Pupils-if dilated, constricted or uneven
i)      Make a head –to-toe inspection of the victim.
Look for:
Ø  Bumps
Ø  Depressions
The pulse and breathing rate vary with age, sex ambient temperature, and body temperature.

The specific classifications of the basic guard functions as to purpose are as follows:

a)    Patrolling

c)    Reporting
d)    Visitor and Access Control
e)    Material Movement Control
f)     Vehicle Traffic and parking Control
g)    Key control
h)    Public Relations
i)      Regulation Enforcement
j)      Communications
k)    Reacting to emergencies
l)      Peace and Order Maintenance
m)  Investigation
n)    Safety Maintenance
o)    Wastage Control (Housekeeping)
p)    Pedestrian Control*
q)    Information Gathering*
r)     Escorting*
s)    Turnover of Duties

*These are functions, which are covered in the performance of another basic function, i. e., safety maintenance, housekeeping and information gathering are functions inherent to the performance of patrol functions. Escorting is a non-routine and special function performed by the guard during transport of valuables or VIPs.

2.5.        REGULATION ENFORCEMENT

 How to Enforce Regulations Properly and Effectively

a)    The guard must have a copy of the regulations at all times
b)    The guard must apprise employees of the regulations as applicable even before they commit any violation.
c)    The guard must know the steps for the regulatory procedures.
d)    The guard must ensure the availability of physical implement or support to enforce the regulations.
e)    The guard must be firm, fair, friendly and fast in enforcing regulations.
